The Latest handset to be released by the renowned Smartphone manufacturer HTC is the HTC G1 White. It offers an impressive spec list with key features including touch screen navigation, digital camera, and Android Operating System.

The G1 White measures 117×55.7×17.1mm and weighs in at 158g, giving it a chunky feel of reliability and good build quality. The 3.2 inch TFT capacitive touch screen uses pixels at 320×480 to display 65,000 colours. It also features a full QWERTY keyboard and trackball for alternative means of navigating menus. An accelerometer sensor allows the screen to be viewed in both landscape and portrait.

To alert users to incoming calls, vibration works alongside downloadable polyphonic ringtones as well as the option to assign MP3 and WAV files as ringtones, allowing a level of customisation of the handset. A speakerphone system is also pre-installed for hands free communication.

A practically unlimited number of contacts can be stored in the phonebook which also includes the popular photo call feature. Internal memory is in the shape of 192MB RAM and 256MB ROM for storing data such as photos and music files. In order to gain further storage, the micro SD slot can be utilised by installing a larger memory card.

Several connectivity options allow the G1 White to stay connected on the move. Initially, class 10 GPRS and EDGE connect the phone to networks, whilst HSDPA is available at speeds of up to 7.2Mbps in areas covered by 3G. To gain a dater internet connection, the HTC G1 White utilises Wi-Fi connectivity harnessing the signals given off by wireless internet routers in commercial and domestic locations as well as other public hotspots. To connect the G1 White to a computer, a mini USB connection is provided.

The HTC G1 White comes equipped with a digital camera boasting 3.15 MP which operates at a pixel resolution of 2048×1536 pixels, allowing images of decent quality to be taken. The inclusion of the autofocus feature simplified the task of taking photos. As an alternative to taking still images, the camera also includes the capability to shoot video.

A built in MP3 player means the phone doubles up as an effective media player, whilst a selection of pre-installed games adds to the list of entertainment options. A voice memo recorder and a digital compass (based on GPS) add to the list of functionality provided by the G1 White.

It is available in White, Black and Brown, so as well as being a functional handset, it is also sure to appeal to style conscious mobile phone users.
