How to Identify Heart Attack Symptoms

Many people are having fear of heart attack by deciding themselves with the
symptoms which mimic heart attack.
What is a Heart Attack?

The Heart Attack is the term used by the general public.

Heart attack symptoms are
divided into two categories depends upon the severity of illness.

1)Ischemic Heart Disease(IHD)
============================

In this condition the blood supply to the heart muscle is diminished due the
blockage of blood vessels(Coronary Arteries)

Diminished blood supply also leads to reduced oxygen supply.

So the heart muscle can not function properly and causes mild heart attack
symptoms
Early symptoms of
heart attacks are known as angina pectoris
Angina is meant as
Strangulation in Greek word.
You may feel like
having tight band over the chest
Pain over the
left side or central part of chest.
Most people feel
tightness in the chest.
Pain may radiate
to neck, jaw or upper back.

Discomfort of the left hand often felt.
Difficulty in breathing may be a prominent feature.
Some persons may have burning sensation in the middle part of the chest.
Sweating.
Nausea(Sensation of vomiting)
Chocking sensation in the throat.
Heaviness in the upper abdomen.
Weakness and easy fatigues.

2)Myocardial Infarction(MI)
==========================

Due to severe severe blockage of blood vessels particular segment of the heart
become improper in function, permanently dies and produces massive heart attack
symptoms
Common symptoms are

Difficulty in breathing,
vomiting,
Sweating,
Irregular heart beats,
Patient shows the expression of impending death.
Decreased blood pressure,
Syncope or collapse are common features,
The site of the pain is same as angina(chest,throat,arms,upper abdomen and
upper back) but it will be severe in nature.
The patient should be hospitalized immediately.

Other Heart Attack risk factors
=========================

The causes of heart attack depends upon patients age,sex,race,other accompanying
disorders and other modifiable risk factors such as cigarette smoking, sedentary
life habits and obesity.

Chest pain is considered as the main symptom for heart attack. But silent heart
attack symptoms may not include chest pain.

So not having chest pain does not exclude the heart attack.

Mortality(death)statistics shows the main time delay is from patient side only.
It is the time delay between the onset of symptoms and deciding to consult a
doctor. So do not delay to consult your doctor

Whenever you are in the suspicion of having heart attack it is advisable to
consult qualified physician or cardiologist. Because the death due to severe
heart attack happens with in an hour from the onset of symptoms. This golden
hour to save the heart attack patient should not wasted.

Majority of the people are embraced to consult the doctor for the fear to get
diagnosed as a confirmed heart patients and they become mentally disturbed
themselves.
